The 2010 UK Corporate Governance Code requires Boards to have completed an external evaluation of their own effectiveness. There is wide recognition that Boards need to look not so much at their formal processes but at the relationships and dynamics within the Board (which are the factors that actually determine how effective those formal procedures are).
Board Effectiveness Review
Our approach which combines desk research, 1:1 discussions, surveys and executive coaching sessions provides exactly this behavioural focus.
With Boards coming under increasing pressure from governments and stakeholders around the world about their lack of diversity, conducting an external Board effectiveness review through the lens of Diversity & Inclusion is an elegant way of both being compliant with the Code and increasing their commitment to broadening diversity right at the top.
