Developing A Vision, Strategic Advice and Training
For two and a half years, we worked to help move the company from something of a plateau to becoming an acknowledged leader in the UK (and increasingly globally). This involved:
• Developing a global “charter” which sets out the bank’s aspirations (launched by the then CEO, and his Executive Committee colleagues), and offering ongoing strategic support;
• Carrying out a comprehensive audit across the UK;
• Developing a focused action plan to promote integration into the business.
In addition we devised a half-day module “Success Through Inclusion” – which involved every leader (starting with the CEO’s top team) in first attending the programme and then themselves delivering it to their own teams. This was about putting them ‘out front’ and taking responsibility to engage on the issues with their own people. In addition to the design for the session, we also developed a comprehensive leader’s manual – to support them in the delivery process.
We have also supported the equality and diversity team as they work with their businesses outside the UK – particularly in Europe and Africa – in order to get them engaged and driving their own strategies, which take account of their own business drivers and local context.
