Equality & Diversity Audit

The Agency asked Schneider~Ross to carry out an equality and diversity audit across Enforcement and Compliance (approximately 32,000 staff). The senior management team was convinced that a review of their current working cultures was needed, and the overall aim was for an in-depth audit looking at diversity “in the round”, to identify the key features of the Enforcement and Compliance directorates’ cultures and to examine the progress of equality and diversity in the department. The audit highlighted both challenges and opportunities for change, (including spreading the existing best practice). The key deliverables in reporting our findings has included ensuring employee perception data was quantifiable and able to act as a benchmark against which targets for improvement can be set; collecting anecdotal information which gave ‘real insights’ into existing cultures; analysing survey data on a Directorate and regional basis so that it can be used to hold leaders and managers accountable for change and providing data to invigorate and inform action plans.
