Inclusion, or the concept of ‘Inclusiveness’ as some clients prefer to call it, is what helps organisations to leverage the business value from their diversity. It is one thing for an organisation to have increased diversity, it is another to ensure that it turns this increased difference to competitive advantage.
In an inclusive culture, there is a pervasive attitude that every team member (regardless of roles and background) may have important ideas to contribute. People are welcomed and what matters is what you have to contribute – not what position you have in the hierarchy, which function you work in, where you are from, what first language you speak, or whether you have just joined from another organisation.
