The National Audit Office publish their hard-hitting report on equality and diversity in the civil service
The National Audit Office published their hard-hitting report on equality and diversity in the civil service on Thursday 25th June 2015. The report recognises the progress that has been made but highlights the lack of sustained commitment and the shortcomings around leadership, data and accountabilities that have caused this.
Robin Schneider was on their expert panel and comments: “I think the team found it useful for me to bring to the research my private sector experience around how leaders drive change. The good thing is that actually I think there is an increasing recognition of how integral D&I is to the Civil Service reform agenda, and what needs to be done is relatively straight-forward. Unfortunately, it is easier for departments to focus on the operational than to exercise the strategic rigour that is required to ensure the appropriate level of leadership and accountability is in place.”
