Services - Learning & Development
However good an organisation’s policies may be on paper – in the end, their effectiveness all comes down to how people behave. It is essential that leaders, managers and teams all have an understanding of how they can and do make a difference. Schneider-Ross has a great deal of experience of helping people move from where they are to where they need to be, in terms of understanding, knowledge and skill.
Whilst we have some core principles that inform our overall approach to learning, the most important of these is actually that we tailor learning to different needs. So, we do not offer “off the shelf” programmes.
The first stage is to identify the training needs – often these will be a combination of individual and organisational drivers (‘how do I increase my awareness and capabilities of working with people who are different from me?….’) alongside ‘what should our diversity priorities be over the next 12 months?’
With our clients we then develop blended solutions for their particular circumstances (and further adapt these within the organisation for different audiences – at different levels, with different functional responsibilities, in different countries.)
For instance, for senior managers and directors this blend of solutions will embrace both individual and group-based interventions – coaching sessions as well as Board workshops. Clients find that coaching is a great way of deepening and stretching the learning for individuals – at any level in the organisation. Through coaching they are given the time and space to really explore the issues that need addressing and develop more effective ways of communicating with and working with their colleagues and clients. For more information on our coaching service, please see our `Coaching' page.
In some organisations each employee may attend a full-day off-site workshop. In others, sessions are divided into 2 hour modules and not necessarily branded as “training” at all.
We also provide personalised training through the design and use of DVD or video material or make use of organisational intranet sites to provide e-training modules.
